FAQs-About

FAQs

Q. Does my AYCC membership include outdoor pool admission?

A. No, the AYCC membership does NOT include the outside pool. The pool is owned by the City of Waterville, and the memberships are separate.

Q. Do I get a discount if I live in Waterville?

A. Yes, on season passes. See above for guidelines/rules.

Q. What if we want to bring a guest that doesn't live with us, can we add them to our family pass?

A. Nope. You can purchase a day pass or an additional pass for their age category. All members with a family pass must reside in the same home.

Q. Do you offer Financial Aid?

A. Yes, on swim lessons & season passes. Applications are available at the AYCC and we require one month's proof of income to process.

Q. Do the passes include the pools & slides?

A. Yes, they include both. However, you must be 48" tall to use the slides.

Q. Do I have to pay admission if I'm just supervising the kids?

A. Yes, we charge admission for everyone over 6 months of age. Our Lifeguards are responsible for everyone in the pool complex area, not just those in the pool.

Q. How tall you do you have to be to use the slides?

A. Safety regulations require users to be at least 48" tall without shoes. We'll measure your child upon checking into the pool.

Pool Rules

  • Children ages 6-17 must take a swim test with a lifeguard before swimming in the deep end. Children 5 and under must remain in shallow sections.

Emergency Info

THREE WHISTLES = IMMEDATELY & SAFELY EVACUATE THE POOL

Throughout the summer, our Lifeguards are tested with emergency drills for training purposes and occasional emergencies take place.

Lifeguards will blow their whistles three times in a drill or emergency situation. Guests must clear the pool quickly and safely. Once the Manager on Duty determines that everyone is safe, families will be allowed to return to the pool.

Weather Policy

The Alfond Municipal Pool Complex operates in most weather conditions. However, due to guest and staff safety, the complex may temporarily close due to heavy rain, high winds, and thunder and lightning. Refunds will not be issued.

  • Closing the complex for the day during a storm:

    • Guests who have purchased a day pass and remain inside the complex will receive a pass to enjoy the park on another day during the 2023 season. Refunds will not be issued.

    • Guests who have purchased a day pass and left the facility prior to the closure by their own choice, will not receive a weather pass or refund.

  • Closing temporarily during a storm or for pool cleaning: no refunds or weather day passes will be issued.

  • Season Pass Holders are not covered under this policy - no refunds or weather day passes will be issued.

About

History:

After 68 years of use, the old “Kiwanis” pool has been replaced with a new, modern family, aquatic center pool facility. Designed to accommodate all ages. There is something for everyone! Included as part of this new facility is a 6 lane, 25 meter pool; a family swim area; a zero-entry swim area with a raindrop; 2 kiddy pools with a small frog slide and “little squirts animals”; a spray pool, and a water slide pool. We invite you to visit our pool facility (often) for your guaranteed fun and enjoyment.
