Assistant Director of Camps & Trips
Primary responsibility of assisting the Director of Camps and Trips in facilitating all off site Camp and Trip programs, including; Day Camp Tracy, Facility Rentals, Group Retreats, and adventure trips. The Assistant Director of Camps and Trips will be the lead agent for the Residential Camp programs. Duties include the development and management of programs, staffing, budgets, marketing, philanthropic initiatives and strategic operations.
Qualifications:
• Extensive knowledge of camping and trip programming.
• Training/Experience in team building, group facilitation, ropes course, archery, boating, and other related skills preferred.
• Experience marketing and generating enrolments for programs.
• Experience with training, supervision and scheduling of large staff.
• General knowledge of maintaining facilities.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to pass State Bureau of Investigation, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Motor Vehicle, Fraud and Sex Offender Registry background checks.
Education Requirements:
• Bachelor Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, or other related field and minimum of 5 years related experience. In lieu of a degree, prior work experience in a relevant setting will be considered.
• Additional certifications from YMCA, ACA or other nationally recognized organizations preferred.

Aquatics Director
Assures the effective and efficient operation of the AYCC Aquatics Department facilities and programs. Works with staff and volunteers to develop and maintain quality programs, standards, procedures, and facilities in accordance guidelines set by the YMCA of USA, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and American Red Cross. Duties include the development and management of programs, staffing, budgets, marketing, philanthropic initiatives and strategic operations.

Swim Lesson Coordinator
Position Summary: Maintains, under supervision of Aquatics Director, the presentation of a diversified and safe Aquatics program operation in accordance with the mission of the AYCC. Is responsible primarily for year-round AYCC Swim Lessons program implementation and presentation. Maintains and analyzes adequate records or program participation and progress reports, as well as Aquatics staff certifications. Also, assists the Aquatics Director in organizing successful delivery of Lifesaving and Water Safety Instructor training classes.
Requirements: Currently certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/First Aid, YMCA V6 Swim Lesson Instructor, and Lifeguarding Instructor. Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in Lifeguard, Lifeguard Instructor, Water Safety Instructor environment. Must positively relate and communicate with diverse populations of all ages. Submits to background check. Valid Driver’s License. Certified Pool and Spa Operator certification preferred.

Certified Personal Trainer
Job Description:
The Boys and Girls Club and YMCA at the Alfond Youth and Community Center is looking to hire a couple part time Certified Personal Trainers.
Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Wellness Director provides individual and small group personal training, monitors, educates patrons on fitness and safety, and maintains a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Safely leads individual and small group personal training, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the Alfond Youth and Community Center (AYCC) mission and goals
Design and ensure delivery of programs and activities appropriate to the target population including but not limited to: youth fitness, senior/adult fitness, general fitness, small group training, sport performance training, healthy eating/nutrition, and health coaching
Provide exceptional fitness experiences that are safe, effective, and support our members efforts to reach their fitness goals
Remain current with information on the developmental needs of youth
Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the AYCC
Within the scope of practice answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members
Follows all AYCC policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary
Keeps accurate class attendance records
Assists with storing/maintaining of equipment
Other duties may be assigned

High school graduate or GED equivalence. Additional education in technical or vocational school would be beneficial. Must be self-motivated, have the ability to operate independently and with a team, have a positive friendly attitude and some customer service skills, and have the temperament and tolerance for a job that seems never done. Knowledge of industrial cleaning supplies, tools, machines, and equipment. Any experience in the fields of heating, plumbing, electricity, glazing, or carpentry is most desirable. Having prior employment as a custodian, janitor, or maintenance person is desired.
