New England Softball Camp is for ages 10-14

Traditional Camp Experience

  • 32-acre camp, located on Oakland’s McGrath Pond

  • Open water swimming, boating, archery, arts & crafts, climbing wall

  • New 400-foot zipline

  • New static ropes course

  • Bunk houses for overnight accommodations

  • Campfires, smores & good times!

Sports Instruction

  • Proper defensive fielding fundamentals

  • Base coverage for all positions

  • Situational defense such as double plays, rundowns, holding runners on the bases, and getting the lead runner out

  • Overhand form throwing

  • Base running, stealing, tagging up, pass balls, aggressive leads, sliding techniques, dive backs

  • Offensive skills: proper form, hitting stations, bunting, slap bunting

  • Team building and leadership exercises

  • Private pitching lessons (additional fee)

Beth LaFountain, Head Coach

Bethany has been coaching Fastpitch softball pitching/catching central Maine for 16 years. She then served as the Winslow Varsity Softball assistant coach/head coach for 4 years before joining the Winslow Varsity Baseball program as the first female baseball coach in school history. Bethany is entering her 4th season as Assistant Thomas Softball Coach - focusing on pitching/catching.
