Jared joins us after graduating from the University of Maine, after earning his bachelors in Exercise Science with a concentration in Athletic Training.  He grew up in China, Maine, and attended Erskine Academy.  Jared has participated in athletics his entire life and is always looking for ways to broaden his mental and physical abilities.  Jared is working to gain his Strength and Conditioning Certification, along with many others.  If you have any questions about health, wellness, or any other topics related, Jared is willing to help!

As a former competitive runner and triathlete, Heather has always been passionate about fitness & health. This passion, combined with a love of teaching and empowering others to live healthier, balanced lives, led her to become an NAFC Certified Personal Trainer, Health Coach, and Yoga Instructor. She specializes in using a holistic approach to help individuals improve their health in simple steps. She has practiced yoga for over 20 years & loves sharing her passion for wellness with others!

Meet our new yoga instructor Jill!  She lives in Waterville with her husband and amazing kiddos. She's been practicing various styles of yoga for the last 15 years. She's trained in heated vinyasa flow. She has practiced yoga through all three of her pregnancies so she's a great resource for mammas.

Rich joins us as part of the MaineGeneral Medical Center Sports Medicine Teams, where he has worked since 2007. He earned his bachelor's  in Exercise Science with a concentration in Athletic Training, is certified as an Athletic Trainer, and is a State of Maine licensed healthcare provider. Rich's expertise lies in outpatient rehabilitation and Athletic Training services and sports event coverage for middle school, high school, and college athletes.

Kenny Harris

Kenny started training in boxing at the age of 12 years old and was an amateur boxer in NYC for 10 years.  With an additional 20 years of training and practice in martial arts, Kenny began a career in Personal Training in 2009 while continuing his education in Physical Therapy.  Specializing in strength and endurance training, body weight movement, calisthenics, and functional training, Kenny teaches a wide variety of group exercise classes.

Brittany Cates

Brittany began dancing at the age of 3 and continued all the way through college as a dance minor at the University of Maine. Throughout her dance career she learned the fundamentals of Pilates, strength and conditioning, and the importance of mind-body connection, mobility, and core strength both in the studio and in everyday life. Brittany is excited to share how these practices can enrich both physical and mental health

Maggie has been an athlete her whole life, having played multiple sports and dancing for 10 years, competing with her dance team. Maggie graduated from Messalonskee High School and attended the University of Maine at Augusta for 2 years, studying mental health. She loves helping people learn new things, like how to use the fitness equipment!

Lexi Fontaine

Certified Yoga Instructor

Lexi gained an appreciation for meditation and wellness practices during her nearly 10 years of experience teaching elementary school. Having experienced the lovely but chaotic setting of a classroom, she became a master of using mindfulness and yoga to reduce work related stress. 
In 2016, Lexi completed a 200-HR yoga certification program through Be.Yoga 
in Connecticut so that she could help others on their own journeys to wellness. Lexi strives to connect the mind, body, and spirit through a gentle, restorative yoga practice. She resides in Winslow with her husband and teaches 5th grade at Winslow Elementary.

As a graduate of Waterville High School, Jamie was a well-rounded Varsity athlete in soccer, basketball, and indoor and outdoor track. He went on to attend UMaine Farmington with a dual major in Psychology & Community Health Education, with a focus on Physical Education. Jamie competed athletically at the collegiate level and received multiple conference recognitions for his success in cross country. Jamie has been an integral part of the AYCC’s team as Health Coordinator for more than 6 years and leads youth fitness as well as extremely popular active older adult classes.
