About Us
The Alfond Youth & Community Center (AYCC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that operates the nation’s only merged Boys and Girls Clubs and YMCA. Located in Central Maine, the dedicated staff of the 85,000-square-foot facility serves nearly 11,000 members from throughout the 50 communities of the Greater Waterville area.
A true youth and community center, the AYCC boasts childcare and afterschool programs, wellness, fitness, athletics, aquatics, and summer camps. Key amenities include:
- The nation’s only 2/3-replica Major League Baseball ballparks – Maine’s Fenway Park and Purnell-Wrigley Field
- The state’s largest licensed, accredited childcare facility, serving more than 85,000 meals annually to 500 youth onsite and offsite at six aftercare programs
- Three gymnasiums, home to many of the 40+ youth athletics programs offered each year
- Three pools (2 indoor pools and 1 outdoor pool managed on behalf of the City of Waterville), where more than 2,100 swimming lessons are provided to youth annually
- We’ve also added an indoor playground structure, with a Tru-Belay system Climbing Wall, and a Ninja Course too!
- A 10,000-square-foot fitness facility and track, home to 40+ fitness classes per week
- Camp Tracy, a 32-acre YMCA camp located on Oakland’s McGrath Pond, is home to New England Sports Camps, Adventure Camp, and Excursion Camp.
